ABOUT
YOLANDA THOMAS- BIO

Yolanda is a 2x L.A Music Award winning songwriter/vocalist from Sydney, who recently relocated to L.A.
She has worked as a professional singer in all areas: live bands, studio sessions, TV appearances and touring. Working with original bands, backing vocals for major artists and in Musical Theater.
She is a full Voting Grammy Member.

As a choreographer and Performance Coach, she is CEO and founder of  www.hiphopcourses.com that sells online dance tutorials and short courses in Sydney and LA with her YouTube dance videos clocking a combined total of almost 2 million.

As a dancer she toured Australia with REEL 2 REAL  promoting their meg hit "I like to move it move it".  She replaced one of the 2 dance members of the group. While flying to every state- Yolanda taught Mad Stuntman to read music and he taught her how to rap.




Recording Artist:
“Left me Doing Time” EP debuted on the Australian ARIA charts at #31 and the AIR charts at #13.
Gigging heavily around Sydney her rock band Yolanda and the Stolen Boys supported STEEL PANTHER at Key Club and showcased at Whisky a Go Go on the Sunset Strip. They released 3 albums and one single on iTunes.

Winner of 2 L.A MUSIC AWARDS including Female Pop Vocalist and Female Rock Singer/Songwriter of the Year. Also nominated for “Artist of the Year” and Live Performer of the year for 2014.

Lead vocalist with rap group LA DI DA- who had high radio rotation with a top 10 hit in Australia.


Stage/Theater:
Yolanda’s musical theatre highlights include the role of Donna Sue Miller in GREASE the Arena Spectacular with the “Raining on Prom Night” duet with Sandy; she was also understudy to Danni Minogue as Rizzo, with minimum crowds of 10,000 in Australia and 40,000 in N.Z.

Minor Principle role for Sydney’s Star City Casino’s Leader of the Pack production, also understudying the lead Trisha Noble (Star Wars).

Toured Australia and New Zealand in Terry O’Connel’s Dusty Springfield Story.


Corporate Events/Gigs:
Backing vocalist for multi ARIA award winning (Australian Grammy equivalent) artists such as Powder Finger, Wendy Matthew  and Vanessa Amorosi on many live gigs, tours & T.V appearances.

Live comedy singing Skit with Harry Connick Jnr, Bob Downe at televised ARIA Awards.

Performed with prestigious hip hop/rap band Mr & Mrs Smith on the Las Vegas strip with Dustree Productions.

Currently a regular performer at Celebrity Ultimate Jam Night and Soundcheck Live in Hollywood. Top touring and session players with the biggest names in rock and pop are invited to perform Rock/pop classics.


Inspirational Presenter/Performance coach:
Chosen by award winning photographer, Yolanda was photographed as one of 100 Influential and Inspiring Australian Women, for a coffee table book titled “Women of the World“. It was released nationwide by internationally recognized designer Camilla Frank and features many Australian celebrities.

Yolanda appeared as herself in MTV’s reality TV show “Full Tank”, choreographing the finalists of the “Cleo Bachelor of the year” competition into a boy band.


Reality Tv Shows:
Road to Rockstar on Fox8. Yolanda gained Nationwide exposure in Australia when she was featured as an Australian finalist for American show Rockstar SuperNova.

X-Factor Australia- Lockdown top 40.


Choreography:
Recently choreographed for Ky Baldwin Music Video For DREAMWORKS TV.  Ky is represented by Justin Bieber management team and has won a LOGIE ( Emmy Equivalent) ,was a finalist in The Voice Kids and Australia's got Talent.

Choreographed for GOOGLE Sydney offices for their Sydney Mardi Gra float.

Choreographed junior hip hop crews which competed at an international level. Winning choreographer of the year for Australian Junior crews by Groove Tv.
